EJJA! TERMS & CONDITIONS

Version 1.0

Last updated: 12 September 2026

1. About EJJA!

EJJA! is a local peer-to-peer platform in Malta that connects people who need everyday things done (Posters) with people who are willing to do them and earn some extra money (Fixers).

EJJA! is a platform only. EJJA! is not a party to any agreement between a Poster and a Fixer, is not the employer of any Fixer, and does not supervise, direct or perform any Task.

Posters and Fixers are independent individuals. Nobody you meet through a Task works for EJJA!

By creating an account or using EJJA! you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use EJJA!

You must register with accurate personal details, including your real name, a valid email address, a valid phone number and your date of birth. Your date of birth is private and is used to confirm your age and eligibility.

One account per person. One email address and one phone number can belong to only one EJJA! account. This applies even if an account has been blocked, closed or suspended.

Accounts must be verified. You may be required to provide valid identification, and your profile photo must clearly show you and correspond with the identity that has been verified.

The person who turns up for a Task must be the person shown and verified on the EJJA! account. Accounts may not be shared, sold, transferred or used to misrepresent who will actually carry out a Task.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account.

3. Tasks and acceptable use

EJJA! is for normal, everyday Tasks and services — help at home, in the garden, at an event, with errands, moving, cleaning, repairs and other day-to-day jobs.

Tasks must always be legal in Malta and comply with EJJA!'s rules.

You may not use EJJA! for: illegal activities; illegal or controlled substances or drug-related activities; weapons or weapon-related activities; sexual or adult services; illegal or inappropriate activities involving alcohol; Tasks deliberately intended to harm or endanger another person; anything requiring someone to break Maltese law; or buying or selling goods.

EJJA! is a Tasks and services platform, not a marketplace for products.

Tasks that are illegal, unsafe, prohibited or clearly inappropriate may be removed. Serious or repeated violations may result in an account being blocked.

Posters must describe Tasks honestly and completely, including location, timing, access, equipment needed and anything that affects how difficult or heavy the work is.

Fixers must only apply for Tasks they are genuinely willing, able and equipped to carry out safely.

Task timing. Posters do not set an official Task date or time. When posting, the Poster describes their preferred timing ("When would you like this done?") as information for Fixers. The exact time at which the Task is performed is arranged directly between the Poster and the selected Fixer.

Application availability. Every Task is reviewed by EJJA! before it is published. For a Normal Task, Fixers may apply from 3 hours after publication; the exact opening time is shown on the Task. For an Urgent Task, Fixers may apply immediately upon publication. Urgent status affects only when applications open and the posting fee; it does not mean EJJA! schedules the Task to start immediately.

Validity and expiry. An open Task without a selected Fixer remains available for applications for up to 21 days from publication. Tasks are not automatically extended or renewed. When this period ends without a Fixer being selected, EJJA! may expire the Task and remove it from active listings; the Task is retained in the Poster's Task history and is not deleted. Where a Fixer has been selected before expiry, the Task may continue through the normal completion workflow.

Task progress. Once a Fixer has been selected, operational steps such as I'M ON MY WAY, arrival confirmation and START TASK are not restricted by any scheduled time. Arrival remains subject to EJJA!'s existing arrival verification methods.

4. Prices, fees, payment and payouts

The Poster decides the Task price. A Fixer may propose a different price where that functionality is available; the price agreed when a Fixer is selected becomes the final Task price.

Posting a Task requires an EJJA! posting fee, shown before the Task is published. The posting fee is separate from the Task price and is not refundable once the Task has been published, including where a Task is later cancelled or where nobody applies.

When a Poster selects a Fixer, the Task payment is reserved. It is not paid to the Fixer at that point.

Payment is released to the Fixer after the Task has been completed and the required completion steps have been followed, either when the Poster approves the Task or through automatic approval as described below.

If the Poster takes no action for 7 days after a Task has been marked complete, and no dispute or support case has been opened, the Task may be automatically approved and payment released.

If a Poster believes there is a genuine problem with a Task or that it was not completed as agreed, they must contact EJJA! Support before automatic approval so that EJJA! can review the situation before payment is released.

Payment processing fees are deducted from the Task price, and the amount a Fixer keeps is shown before applying.

EJJA! Credits are rewards that can be used towards future Task-posting fees. Credits have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and are not transferable.

5. Cancellation, safety and suitability

Both Posters and Fixers may cancel a Task before the work begins in the situations described below. A reason must be given from the options provided and the cancellation is recorded.

FIXERS: if a Fixer arrives and discovers that the Task is substantially different, larger, more difficult or more dangerous than described, or requires equipment or abilities that were not disclosed, the Fixer may cancel the Task and leave. A Fixer should never feel required to carry out work they did not agree to or reasonably believe is unsafe.

POSTERS: if a Fixer arrives and the Poster feels threatened, unsafe or seriously uncomfortable, the Poster may cancel the Task and ask the Fixer to leave. A Poster may also cancel before work begins if they reasonably believe the Fixer is not appropriately equipped, capable or fit to safely carry out the Task as described and agreed.

A Poster is not required to allow someone to begin working in their home, on their property or with their belongings simply because they selected them through EJJA!

Where a Task is legitimately cancelled before the work begins: it is not considered completed; the Fixer does not receive payment for a completed Task; reserved Task payment that has not legitimately become payable is returned or released to the Poster according to the EJJA! payment process; neither person receives a completed Task towards their EJJA! level or statistics; the normal completed-Task rating process does not take place; the cancellation and reason are recorded; and either party may contact EJJA! Support.

EJJA! may still collect cancellation feedback and investigate reports involving threatening, unsafe, misleading or inappropriate behaviour.

If you genuinely feel unsafe, do not continue with a Task simply because it has already been arranged through EJJA!

6. Risk, damage and insurance

EJJA! does not provide insurance for Tasks carried out through the platform unless explicitly stated otherwise.

You acknowledge that physical Tasks can involve risks, that property can accidentally be scratched, damaged or broken, and that accidents may occur.

Fixers should only apply for Tasks they reasonably believe they can perform safely and properly. Posters should not knowingly post Tasks that are dangerous or unsuitable for an ordinary person to perform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EJJA! is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising out of a Task, the conduct of a Poster or Fixer, or any agreement between them.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Ratings, levels and reputation

After a completed Task, both sides may leave feedback. Posters may be rated on being on time, being friendly and respectful, and whether the Task was accurately described. Fixers may be rated on being on time, being friendly and completing the Task properly.

Ratings, completed Task history and profile information help other users make informed decisions.

Feedback must be honest and must not be abusive, discriminatory or misleading. EJJA! may remove feedback that breaches these Terms.

EJJA! levels and badges reflect successfully completed Tasks only. Applications, selections, withdrawals and cancellations do not count.

8. Tax and personal obligations

Depending on your individual circumstances and how much you earn, you may have tax, VAT or other reporting obligations on money earned through EJJA!

EJJA! does not handle or pay your personal taxes or VAT for you.

Each Fixer is responsible for understanding and declaring their own earnings and meeting any tax, VAT or other legal obligations that apply to them.

EJJA! keeps a record of earnings and provides Fixers with a monthly summary and an earnings history in their account. EJJA! does not issue VAT receipts on behalf of Fixers for the work they perform.

9. Conduct, suspension and blocking

Be clear about what you need, offer a fair price, only apply for Tasks you are genuinely willing and able to do, and treat other users respectfully. These rules apply equally to Posters and Fixers.

If someone repeatedly breaks EJJA!'s rules, behaves dishonestly, misuses the platform, uses a false identity, shares an account or treats other members of the community in an unacceptable way, their account may be blocked, closed or suspended.

A blocked user can no longer post or take Tasks through EJJA! Their email address and phone number remain reserved to that account and cannot be used to create a replacement account.

Internal moderation reasons are visible only to authorised EJJA! staff. A blocked user may still contact EJJA! Support.

10. Privacy and personal data

EJJA! processes personal data in order to run the platform, verify accounts, keep the community safe and meet legal obligations.

Your date of birth, identification documents, exact address details, payout details and internal staff notes are private and are not shown on public profiles.

Your first name, profile photo, locality, badges, ratings and completed Task history are visible to other users so that Posters and Fixers can make informed decisions.

The exact address of a Task is revealed to the selected Fixer only.

Staff actions on accounts and Tasks are recorded for audit purposes and are retained.

11. Changes to these Terms

These Terms are Version 1.0 and are an initial version pending legal review.

EJJA! may publish a new version. Where a new version requires acceptance, you will be asked to read and accept it the next time you use EJJA!, and normal use may be paused until you do.

Your previous acceptance records are retained so that it is always clear which version you accepted and when.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the EJJA! Contact page.
