FAQ

Everything you need to know about using EJJA! in Malta.

No. When you post a Task you answer WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE THIS DONE? in your own words — for example "As soon as possible", "This weekend", "Any evening next week" or "I'm flexible".

Once you've selected a Fixer, the two of you agree the exact time together in the Task chat.

Both are reviewed by EJJA! and become visible once approved and published.

NORMAL TASK (€3 + VAT): Fixers can apply starting 3 hours after publication. The Task shows the exact time applications open.

URGENT TASK (€6 + VAT): Fixers can apply immediately after publication.

Urgent only changes when applications open — it doesn't mean the work must start straight away. You and your Fixer still agree the actual time.

Up to three weeks (21 days) from publication. There are no automatic extensions.

If nobody has applied, EJJA! may remind you about every five days to review your Task — for example adjusting the price or improving the description. These reminders stop as soon as someone applies.

If no Fixer has been selected after 21 days, the Task expires: it's removed from Browse and can't receive new applications, but it stays in My Activity. It is not deleted.

If you've already selected a Fixer, the Task simply carries on to completion — it does not expire.

There is no scheduled-time restriction. After agreeing the time with the Poster, the Fixer follows the normal steps when appropriate: I'M ON MY WAY → ARRIVED → START TASK → IN PROGRESS → AWAITING APPROVAL → COMPLETED & PAID.

Arrival is still confirmed using EJJA!'s existing arrival checks, such as location or confirmation by the Poster.

Normal Task: €3 + VAT.

Urgent Task: €6 + VAT. That is the total urgent posting fee — the normal fee is never added on top.

Your first normal Task is free 🎉 — every EJJA! account gets one free normal Task posting. Urgent Tasks are never free and do not use up your free normal Task.

The posting fee is EJJA!'s own fee and is completely separate from the Task price you offer the Fixer. The exact amount, VAT and total are always shown before you pay.

EJJA! is a local peer-to-peer platform that connects people in Malta who need something done with people who want to do it and earn some extra money.

It could be cleaning, gardening, moving furniture, assembling something, running an errand, helping at an event, painting a room — or almost anything else, as long as the task is legal and follows EJJA!'s rules.

1. Create your account. Sign up with your basic personal details. The same EJJA! account lets you both post tasks and become a Fixer.

2. Post what you need done. Describe your task as clearly as possible. Add photos, location, when you'd like it done, whether tools are needed and any other useful information. The clearer you are, the easier it is for Fixers to understand exactly what you need.

3. You decide the price. You choose what you're willing to pay. There's no fixed price list, but be fair and realistic. A good price makes it much more likely that someone will want to take your task.

4. Fixers browse and apply. People can browse available tasks and apply for the ones they want to do. A Fixer may also suggest a different price where this functionality is available.

5. You choose your Fixer. You may have several people interested. Check their profile, experience and ratings and choose who you feel is right for your task.

6. Your payment is reserved — not paid yet. When you select a Fixer, the Task payment is reserved. The Fixer doesn't receive the money until the Task has been completed and the required completion steps have been followed.

7. Get it done. Once a Fixer has been selected, you agree the exact time together through the Task chat, confirm the details and get the job done.

8. Complete, pay and rate each other. When the Task is successfully completed, payment is released to the Fixer. Afterwards, both sides can leave feedback. Posters can be rated on things such as being on time, being friendly and respectful, and whether the Task was accurately described. Fixers can be rated on things such as being on time, being friendly and completing the Task properly.

EJJA! is for normal, everyday tasks and services — the kind of things you might need help with at home, in your garden, for an event, with errands, moving, cleaning, repairs or other day-to-day jobs.

Tasks must always be legal in Malta and comply with EJJA!'s rules.

You cannot use EJJA! for: illegal activities; illegal or controlled substances or drug-related activities; weapons or weapon-related activities; sexual or adult services; illegal or inappropriate activities involving alcohol; tasks deliberately intended to harm or endanger another person; anything requiring someone to break Maltese law; or buying or selling goods.

EJJA! is a Tasks and services platform, not a marketplace for products.

Tasks that are illegal, unsafe, prohibited or clearly inappropriate may be removed. Serious or repeated violations may result in the account being blocked.

Simple rule: EJJA! is for getting everyday jobs done — legally, safely and fairly.

EJJA! is a peer-to-peer platform built on trust, transparency and respect between members of the community.

It is important to understand that nobody you meet through a Task works for EJJA! Posters and Fixers are independent, everyday people using the platform to connect with each other.

Accounts must be verified. Users will be required to provide valid identification, and their profile photo must clearly show them and correspond with the identity that has been verified.

The person who turns up for a Task should be the person shown and verified on the EJJA! account. Accounts cannot be shared or used to misrepresent who will actually carry out a Task.

Ratings, completed Task history and profiles help Posters and Fixers make informed decisions about who they choose to work with.

False identities, account sharing, serious misconduct or breaches of EJJA!'s rules may result in the account being blocked.

The people you meet through EJJA! are real people in your community. Treat each other with the same respect and common sense you would expect in return.

Fairness works both ways. EJJA! is built around ordinary people helping ordinary people.

Be clear about what you need, offer a fair price, only apply for Tasks you're genuinely willing and able to do, and treat other users respectfully. These rules apply equally to Posters and Fixers.

If someone repeatedly breaks EJJA!'s rules, behaves dishonestly, misuses the platform or treats other members of the community in an unacceptable way, their account may be blocked.

A blocked user will no longer be able to post or take Tasks through EJJA!

When you complete a Task, mark it as completed through EJJA! The Poster then confirms that the Task has been completed and payment is released.

If the Poster doesn't approve the Task immediately, EJJA! will remind them.

If they take no action for 7 days and no dispute/support case has been opened, the Task may be automatically approved and payment released.

If the Poster believes there is a genuine problem with the Task or that it was not completed as agreed, they must contact EJJA! Support before automatic approval. EJJA! can then review the situation before payment is released.

If you've done the work as agreed, you shouldn't have to chase the Poster to get paid.

EJJA! Credits are rewards that can be used towards future Task-posting fees.

EJJA! wants to help new Fixers get their first opportunities and start building their experience and ratings. A Poster can therefore earn 1 EJJA! Credit when choosing an eligible New Fixer who has completed 0–2 Tasks.

A Poster can also earn 1 EJJA! Credit when choosing an eligible Senior Fixer. EJJA! wants to encourage older members of the community who want to stay active, use their skills and earn some extra money through suitable everyday Tasks.

Credits are stored in the user's EJJA! account and can be used towards future Task-posting fees.

Depending on your individual circumstances and how much you earn, you may have tax, VAT or other reporting obligations on money earned through EJJA!

EJJA! does not handle or pay your personal taxes or VAT for you.

Each Fixer is responsible for understanding and declaring their own earnings and meeting any tax, VAT or other legal obligations that apply to them.

EJJA! keeps track of earnings and automatically provides Fixers with a monthly summary showing how much they earned through the platform. The earnings history is also available through the Fixer's EJJA! account.

EJJA! does not issue VAT receipts on behalf of Fixers for the work they perform. EJJA! provides a record of what the Fixer has earned. It remains the user's responsibility to determine what they are required to declare or pay.

EJJA! is a peer-to-peer platform connecting independent people. EJJA! does not provide insurance for Tasks carried out through the platform unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Users acknowledge that physical Tasks can involve risks and that property can sometimes accidentally be scratched, damaged or broken and accidents may occur.

Fixers should only apply for Tasks they reasonably believe they can perform safely and properly. Posters should not knowingly post Tasks that are dangerous or unsuitable for an ordinary person to perform.

FIXERS: if a Fixer arrives and discovers that the Task is substantially different, larger, more difficult or more dangerous than described, or requires equipment or abilities that were not disclosed, the Fixer can cancel the Task and leave. They should never feel required to carry out work they did not agree to or reasonably believe is unsafe.

POSTERS: if a Fixer arrives and the Poster feels threatened, unsafe or seriously uncomfortable, the Poster can cancel the Task and ask the Fixer to leave. A Poster can also cancel before work begins if they reasonably believe the Fixer is not appropriately equipped, capable or fit to safely carry out the Task as described and agreed.

A Poster is not required to allow someone to begin working in their home, on their property or with their belongings simply because they selected them through EJJA!

Where a Task is legitimately cancelled before the work begins: it is not considered completed; the Fixer does not receive payment for a completed Task; reserved Task payment that has not legitimately become payable is returned/released to the Poster according to the EJJA! payment process; neither person receives a completed Task towards their EJJA! level/statistics; the normal completed-Task rating process does not take place; the cancellation and reason are recorded; and either party can contact EJJA! Support.

EJJA! may still collect cancellation feedback and investigate reports involving threatening, unsafe, misleading or inappropriate behaviour.

If you genuinely feel unsafe, do not continue with a Task simply because it has already been arranged through EJJA!
